SERVICE DESCRIPTION:
Processing of advanced materials and nanostructures for transparent electronics, optoelectronics and spintronics, sensors, energy sources and catalysis. Synthesis of inorganic, organic and hybrid materials as thin films, multilayer structures, composite structures and low dimensional systems. The research center has the technology for metal, oxide and chalcogenide thin films deposition (DC and RF sputtering, Vacuum thermal evaporation, Pulsed Laser Ablation, spin coating, spray pirolysis, electrochemical deposition, etc.) with micro or nano scale thicknesses; facilities for nanomaterials and nanostructures chemical (sol-gel, co-precipitation, self-combustion,etc.) and physical synthesis (thermal vacuum evaporation, pulsed laser ablation) and facilities for annealing and UV or VIS irradiation processes .

Investigations on condensed matter structure and internal interactions

DESCRIPTION:
The tSTAT335x is the temperature controller for the continuous flow cryostats, which use liquid nitrogen as a coolant. The controller unit regulates the sample temperature in the range from 77.4 K up to 473 K. The tSTAT335x controls the resistive heater power arranged at the heat exchanger as well as the nitrogen gas flow rate by variation of the heater power within the storage dewar. The controller unit also has an integrated watch dog for the liquid nitrogen level. For temperature measurements a NiCr:Ni thermocouple is used. The reference junction is build by an electronically compensated ice-point. The controller tSTAT335x has a remote control capability via a serial RS-232 interface. One can control the unit and obtain the actual status and settings by simple plain text commands.
